Terms of use.

Updated September 29, 2026. CanvasPlugin provides read-only access to supported Canvas schools through compatible AI assistants. It is independent of Instructure, OpenAI and Anthropic.

Your account and school

Use only an account and course information you are authorized to access. Follow your school’s rules and your assistant provider’s terms. Users under 18 need parent or guardian permission. Hosted access depends on school approval and may be unavailable at some institutions.

Hosted subscription

After a successful school connection, you can start one seven-day trial per account without a card. It ends automatically and access pauses; nothing is charged unless you separately choose a paid subscription. Paid access is $5 USD monthly plus applicable taxes until canceled. Existing subscriptions keep their checkout terms. Cancel renewals in Manage subscription. Contact support@duggai.com about refunds or billing problems.

Usage

The hosted plan allows 3,000 Canvas tool calls per calendar month and up to 300 per day, shared across all your connected assistants. Limits reset at midnight UTC each day and on the first of each month. Tool attempts count even when Canvas cannot return an answer. Requests denied by these limits do not count, and there are no automatic overage charges. Up to 60 connector requests per minute are allowed. School throttling and AI-provider message limits can further restrict usage. Automated scraping, account sharing and reselling access are not included. We may suspend access for abuse or a revoked school connection.

Check important information

Information reflects Canvas when read and can change. Confirm deadlines and submissions at their source. AI answers can be wrong. CanvasPlugin cannot complete protected tests or submit coursework.

Open source

The self-hosted server is provided under the MIT license, including its warranty limitations. No hosted subscription is required to run it.
